As you may know, PageRank is the well known system Google uses to rank websites on the Internet. Well, that's only part of the whole ranking system they use nowadays, as they mention on this post about Google's Search Quality. What is more interesting is how other parts of the system work today and how they may work in the near future.
Specially I would like to remark the personalized models: "not all people want the same thing". Would you imagine one day when a search on Google returns different results to you than it does to other people? Saving your search history, visited pages, feeds subscribed in Google Reader, etc... gives Google a lot of information about what do you do on Internet, which will help it to guess what are you searching for now.
Maybe that day has already come?
These are three very smart men how know and have talked with very important persons in multiple fields, but specially technology. They know a lot about Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Page or Sergey Brin. They are worthwhile to listen to:
Charlie Rose has a TV show with his own name. He has interviewed very interesting people. What I like more from him is the fact that it is amazing to whach him talking. You soon realize he knows very well what he is talking about and who is he talking about.
Walter Mossberg is a columnist for The Wall Street Journal and has interviewed people like Steve Jobs several times (my favourite is this interview soon after Apple released the iPhone).
Ken Auletta is awriter who has published several books. I didn't know him until I saw him yesterday in a Charlie Rose's show talking about Google. Again, very interesting to listen to.
So today, I was looking for some videos of them. Then I decided that Miro is the perfect software for that, which alows me not only to do searches and subcribe to channels (and search results) but also it downloads the videos to my computer. So instead of having to watch an hour video on a browser, I can sit and watch it on my TV.
I have seen videos from Google Tech Talks in multiple times. I'm looking for some kind of feed, but I can't find anything. Do you have any suggestions?
I love Google Tech Talks because they usually talk about cutting edge technology (like MySQL 5.1 clustering) or things that few people may know about (like The Secret History of Silicon Valley).
Update
Nevermind. I just found out you can get feeds from any search on Google Video:
