Waching the news I just heard about this "theory":
The theory is that a Super Bowl win by a team from the original National Football League (now the NFL's NFC division) means that the stock market will be up for the coming year. A win by a team from the old American Football League (now the NFL's AFC division) foretells a decline.
This years Super Bowl will be The Patriots vs. The Giants. Apparently The Giants is from the original league. In the other hand, The Patriots is a team from the old league.
The Patriots have beat all records this year, winning all 18 games (16 games from the league and 2 from the playoffs). They haven't loosed a single game this year. Again, in the other hand, The Giants barely made it to the Super Bowl.
So everything looks like The Patriots will win. That combined with the US recesion may keep this theory alive one more year (apparently this theory is true 81% of the time).
