Have you ever seen a squirrel in Spain? I mean... you know... out of a cage?
One of the things that impress me more since I came to California is the huge amount of wild animals you can see everywhere. Deer, squirrels, coyotes, racoons... I love looking trough the window in my office. Almost every day you can see something out there.
Last Saturday, when we were walking to Morro Rock, we saw these two squirrels. We were less than a cuple of meters from them and they seemed to not care at all :)
Hello Eneko, actually I have
Hello Eneko,
actually I have seen lots of squirrels in Spain, I was born in Castellón (in Comunidad Valenciana) and near the place I lived there was a park called El Pinar, there I have always seen squirrels out of any cage, of course.
Right now I'm living in Brazil and I'm also impressed because of the amount of wild (and not so wild) animals you can see anywhere here too.
Saludetes,
Manuel
Yep, in Soria. In La Dehesa
Yep, in Soria. In La Dehesa (a park inside the city) and also in Monte Valonsadero, just 20 minutes by car. Anyway, it's a surprise to see them.
In Guisando you can see wild
In Guisando you can see wild free animals like red skirrels (more beautiful than those you show on the pic :P), deers, wild hogs, wild goats, and so on!! You better come and see...
In Madrid you can see
In Madrid you can see squirrels, of course, at Zoo.
Ok, that's a joke.
They are squirrels in, for example, La Prediza, a granite mountain at 50 kilometres from Madrid, near Manzanares river (when Manzanares is a true river). It's necessary stay there early, and you can see them "subiendo a los árboles" (up to the trees???). They are too wild goat, you can see them any time and any place.
In my little country, in my village -NW of Zamora, Castilla y Leon, near Galicia and Portugal- you can see squirrels, wild boars, deers, and the most important population of wolfs at Spain.
Where I come from (Sierra de
Where I come from (Sierra de Madrid) it's actually possible to see some rabbits, MANY snakes, eagles and some shy deer. If you go to the city, then you'll just see fat sparrows and doves (and cockroaches in the summer) :-P
Here in Norway the range of animals one gets to see widens a HUGE LOT!! Up to now I've seen Arctic foxes, deer, reindeer, elks, whales and a lot of sea eagles... One gets to see animals living close to us, "human predators", and that's magical!!
Hi, Enekyn! Squirrels camp
Hi, Enekyn!

Hello Eneko! My first comment here, nice to meet you ;)
